Dr Bonura developed a chair-based yoga program to meet the needs of her senior citizen and disabled clients. Yoga has the capacity to improve health and well-being on all levels of being, even if you can't sit on the floor on a yoga mat. Her Chair Yoga students range in age from 20-something to 90-something. Her students have included a strong and healthy 69-year-old police cadet, as well as individuals with canes, breathing tubes, walkers, wheelchairs, and stomach tubes. Students see improvement in their overall health, losing weight, improving mobility, and often easing symptoms of chronic conditions such as arthritis, irritable bowel syndrome, and Meniere's Disease.
